The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod's. It works well, but isn't as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that's not an issue, but if you're planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod's larger screen and better browser may be important.

Very interesting Jane. Your definitely onto a good idea here but need to expand on the subject and show, for example, how good writing can actually help move a Business forward. I for one can see the beauty of prose but how to apply it to a cut-throat environment is beyond my imagination. More please.

Hi Jane,
Thanks for an enjoyable article, SEO seems to be on ongoing hot topic and it is all to easy to get swept up in the frenzy. One of the good pieces of advice that I read was a reminder that the ultimate target of your content is people rather than Google. It's a catch 22 that you need to get Google on side to get to the people.
I resonated with the idea that we know a lot of stuff and then forget or ignore it when it comes to doing our own website. Why is it always easier to see what needs to be done with someone else's site and be blind to it on your own??
Cheers,
Brian

Couldn't agree more, Jane. Let's have some controversy (with the emphasis on the first "o")! As I get older (and grumpier) I've decided that if someone wants to part me from my money, they can at least send me something that contains proper sentences and no spelling mistakes. In general, it seems to me that writing, good writing I mean, is becoming scarcer. People can't spell, they can't punctuate and they have little concept of grammar. Don't schools teach this any more? People sending this junk may, or may not, actually have something to say but I often don't get far enough into whatever-it-is to find out. The pub down the road had a menu board outside the other day with "favorite" written on it (this is Woodbridge, Suffolk, not Woodbridge Virginia), and how often do you see something like: "free range egg's"? As for conversation with the younger generation, don't get me started. "Grunt." "Yeah, cool." "Awesome." All without lifting their eyes from their iPhones while texting. I'm with Private Fraser. "We're all doomed..."

So true Jane. Good writing whether online or offline does takes a little effort. The trouble with online johnnies is that they'll spent hours figuring out how to automate something rather than a few minutes producing quality work. By 'quality' I mean 2 things: 'original' and 'fit for purpose'.

Florists, restauranteurs, hoteliers and booksellers, you love flowers, food, hospitality and books! They love them so much they want to create a life of it and a living from it.

If they want to continue to love it, then you've got to learn to love the entrepreneurial side too.

In business, as in life, being ignorant is not a sin - wanting to stay that way is.
